Solar PV Installation on new terraced houses in Croydon, London (4 x 1.05kWp)

This new development of four terraced houses was required to have Solar PV systems installed to meet the Carbon Saving Target for the development. This was predetermined as part of the overall SAP building design in correlation with other energy saving elements of the design.

The houses face East and the available area over each house can accommodate 6 No Solar panels arranged as two rows of three panels in portrait layout. The houses are part of a social housing scheme and the inverters are located in the loft space accessed by a secure hatch to protect the tenants against accessing high voltage d.c. systems.

Technologies

Each house has an independent system of Solar Panels with an inverter, the a.c side being connected into the house mains at low level with a meter to allow the householder to take advantage of the FIT payments and associated saving on their electricity bill.

  • Inverter Type – 1 No. Stecagrid inverter
  • Monitoring – by meter at low level
  • System output – 1.05 kWp
  • Annual output – 784 Kwh/yer (estimated)
