Solar PV installation in Grimsby (4kW)

In October 2010, PV Fit installed a solar PV system onto Mr & Mrs Hunter’s new Eco home near to Grimsby.

Mr & Mrs Hunter, Grimsby

The PV array is located on a flat roof and it was important to Mr & Mrs Hunter that this was protected against damage. Mr & Mrs Hunter chose PV Fit as we were both competitively priced and designed their PV system to be low impact visually and in keeping with the roofs warranty. Web monitoring allows them to keep track on the performance of their system daily, even if away on business.

They are now benefitting from the Governments tax free Feed-in Tariff (FIT) scheme which is offering them an annual return of 10% per year on their capital investment.

Quick system facts

  • 3.995 kWp system on eco home with flat roof.
  • Panels optimised on A frames to face South at 30 degrees tilt
  • FlatFix mounting system used; as it meant we did not have to screw through the roof covering, it required a small amount of ballast to weigh the system down, and offered quick and simple installation, taking just 2 days.
  • Includes Nedap web monitoring
  • The inverter, located in garage, allows for system expansion up to 5kWp, and for connection to battery storage system
  • Predicted system payback 10 years
